The International Musicological Society has announced its Centenary Congress, to be held from 2–6 August 2027 in Stavanger, Norway. The event will bring together researchers for five days of presentations, keynote lectures, concerts, and a broad range of musicological activities.
Under the theme Musical Ecosystems, the congress aims to foster new academic connections and to engage critically with the future directions of music studies.
The call for contributions includes:
– Free Papers and Study Sessions on any topic
– Roundtables on the Congress theme
– Dissertation presentations
– Papers on Artistic Research, including demonstrations
The deadline for submissions is 15 June, 2026.
Participants do not need to be members of IMS to present, but IMS members will benefit from reduced registration fees, a sliding scale of fees keyed to their country of residence, eligibility for travel subventions, and the option for online participation.
