Call for papers – Global Music Production in Times of Longevity: Aesthetics, Markets, Technologies, New Professional Competences and Transmission of Knowledge

The Intercultural Institute for Comparative Music Studies of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini is organizing an international seminar on:
Global Music Production in Times of Longevity: Aesthetics, Markets, Technologies, New Professional Competences and Transmission of Knowledge

The seminar, which is part of the series Music (and Musicologies) in the 21st Century, will be held in Venice at the Giorgio Cini Foundation from 10 to 12 November 2026.

The programme will include three keynote lectures (delivered by Andy Bennett, Tia DeNora, and Austin C. Okigbo), as well as sessions featuring papers selected through an open call.

Submission guidelines

Please submit:
• An abstract of 150-200 words
• 3-5 keywords
• A brief biographical note (max. 100 words)

Language: English only Presentations will be 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion.

Submission deadline: 15 June 2026
Notification of acceptance: via email, by end of July 2026
